Skysight Support
Effective date: October 18, 2026
Clear skies are not guaranteed, but help with the app is. Write to logbook@skysight.app and describe what you were trying to see.
What we can help with
- The sky map and AR. The map works without the camera. If pointing stops following your phone, move away from metal and magnets, or switch to manual browsing and choose a region and date yourself.
- Location. If location is denied or unavailable, pick a region on the manual map. Skysight only ever uses a rounded region, so small offsets are expected.
- Tonight and reminders. If a reminder does not ring, check that notifications are allowed for Skysight in iOS Settings and that the viewing window has not already ended.
- Stories and questions. Pause and Replay control the system voice. Play basics works from the bundled catalog when AI is off or unavailable. After a timeout or service limit your question is kept, so try again later.
- Voice input. Recognition runs on the device in English. If it is unsupported or permission is denied, typing always works.
- The sky log. Saving, editing notes, attaching a photo, sharing a summary, saving an observation card and deleting entries.
- AI consent. Turning Use AI on or off, and what is shared when it is on.
Sending a request
Email logbook@skysight.app with:
- your iPhone model and iOS version;
- the Skysight version (shown on the App Store page or in iOS Settings);
- the screen you were on, what you tapped and what you expected;
- the object name, date and rough region if a position looks wrong;
- a screenshot, if it helps.
Please leave out precise home coordinates, personal notes you would rather keep private, and any passwords or codes. We will never ask you for them.
Purchases and refunds
Skysight is free and has no in-app purchases. For anything about App Store downloads or billing, contact Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com.
Recovering a log
Your sky log lives only on your iPhone and Skysight has no cloud copy, so we cannot see, restore or transfer your entries. A deleted entry or an uninstalled app cannot be recovered by us. Entries may be included in your own device backups. Cards you saved to Photos and summaries you shared stay where you put them.
Safety boundary
Skysight's positions are approximate and the app is not a navigation, timing or safety tool. Never point a phone, binoculars or telescope at the Sun. Observe from a safe place, away from traffic and edges.
Outside our scope
We cannot help with telescope or mount hardware, astrophotography settings, DeepSeek account or policy questions, iOS problems unrelated to Skysight, or requests for professional scientific, navigational or legal advice.
